Thu 06/06: Stayed out of the market

Past results this month – medium frequency models (hypothetical trades based on the trading plans published before markets open daily):

Trading Plans/Forecast Published Wednesday Morning – Aggressive Intraday Models

“For today, Thursday 06/06, our aggressive intraday models indicate going long on a break above 2838 or 2825 or 2811 with an 8-point trailing stop, and going short on a break below 2835 or 2818 or 2808 with an 8-point trailing stop.”

Trading Plan Results/Outcome:

Thu 06/06: The aggressive intraday models booked a net +13.17 index points in gains on two longs and two shorts

After registering the session low of 2822.45 around 10:30am EST, the index broke above the 2825 level around 10:35am triggering a long with an 8-point trailing stop. The index briefly breached above and then broke below the 2835 level around 11:35am, closing the long with a gain of 10.00 index points and simultaneously opening a short with an 8-point trailing stop. 

The short reached an interim low of 2826.93 around 11:50am, moving the trailing stop trigger to 2834.93 which was triggered around 2:10pm closing the position with a gain of 0.07 index points. 

The index broke below the 2835 level again around 2:25pm, opening a short (#2). This short was closed when the index broke above the 2838 level around 2:35pm, with a loss of 3.00 index points, and a long (#2) was opened with an 8-point trailing stop. 

The long reached the session high of 2852.10 around 3:40pm, lifting the trailing stop trigger to 2844.10. The stop was hit at 3:55pm, closing the long with a gain of 6.10 index points.  

Thus, the aggressive intraday models registered a total of 13.17 index points on two longs and two shorts (+10.00 +0.07 -3.00 +6.10).

NOTE: Remember that a “trailing stop” works differently from the traditional stop-loss order. Please bear in mind that the trailing stop’s trigger level would keep changing throughout the session (click here to read on the conceptual workings of a trailing-stop).
