May Payroll Numbers Good or Bad?
The disappointing NFP data released this morning may be interpreted as “Good for the markets” or “Bad for the economy” or in myriad ways depending upon one’s own objectives. While the perma-bears look at the implied economic slowdown, the perma-bulls look at the imminent Fed rate cuts.
If one’s interest is making money on the financial markets’ movements, then one should be less interested in being a perma-bull or a perma-bear and should rather take the trading opportunities that the market movements throw at her/him. Our models indicate the following trading plans for today:
Trading Plans for FRI, 06/07:

Medium-Frequency Models: For today, Friday 06/07, our medium-frequency models indicate going long on a break above 2860 with a 10-point trailing stop, and going short on a break below 2835 with an 8-point trailing stop and a short-exit on a break above 2832.
Aggressive Intraday Models: For today, Friday 06/07, our aggressive intraday models indicate going long on a break above 2860 or 2855 with an 8-point trailing stop, and going short on a break below 2850 or 2843 with a 6-point trailing stop.
