Results of Published Model Entries and Exits for Friday 03/22

Trading Plans/Forecast Published Thursday Morning – Medium-term Models

“For today, Friday 03/22, our medium-term models to carry the long from yesterday till it gets stopped out (current stop trigger at 2850.31). Would go short on a break below 2833 with a 12-point trailing stop. No long trade indicated” 

Trading Plan Results/Outcome

Fri 03/22:  Booked +21.38 index points in gains for the day on one carried long and one short.  

The index gapped down and opened below the stop trigger of 2850.31 at 2844.52 where the open long was closed out by the stop for a gain of 2.52 index points. 

The index broke below the 2833 level around 9:50am ET, triggering a short position with a 12-point trailing stop. The short narrowly survived the stop until it rode the index all the way down to an interim low of 2802.14 by 12:45pm, dragging the stop trigger to 2814.14. The stop was triggered around 1:10pm, closing the short with a gain of 18.86 index points. The models stayed falst for the rest of the session. 

Thus, the models realized a net gain of 21.38 (2.52 + 18.86) index points on one long and one short.

Trading Plans/Forecast Published Thursday Morning – Aggressive Intraday Models

For today, Friday 03/22, our aggressive intraday models indicate going short on a break below 2838 with an 8-point trailing stop, and going long on a break above 2848 with an 8-point trailing stop.

Trading Plan Results/Outcome:

Fri 03/22:  Booked +4.15 index points in profits on one short

The index broke below the 2838 level at 9:47am ET, triggering a short position with an 8-point trailing stop. The index reached an interim low of 2825.85 around 9:55am, taking the stop trigger down to 2833.85. The stop trigger was hit around 10:20am, closing the position with a gain of 4.15 index points. The models stayed flat for the rest of the session.
