Trading Plans/Forecast Published Wednesday Morning – Medium-term Models

For today, Wednesday 03/06, our medium-term models indicate going long on a break above 2817 and going short on a break below 2770, both with a 12-point trailing stop.”

Trading Plan Results/Outcome:

Wed 03/06: Open short being carried overnight (entry: 2770, 12-point trailing stop currently anchored at 2780.69)

The index tested breaking below the 2770 level but could not do so until about 3:30pm, when the models triggered a short with a 12-point trailing stop. The index then reached the session low of 2768.69, dragging the stop down to 2780.69. The models carried the short into the close, thus leaving an open position with a 12-point trailing stop anchored at 2780.69.

Trading Plans/Forecast Published Wednesday Morning – Aggressive Intraday Models

For today, Wednesday 03/06, our aggressive intraday models indicate going long on a break above 2802 and short on a break below 2782 – both sides with an 8-point trailing stop. “

Trading Plan Results/Outcome:

Wed 03/06:

The index clearly broke below the 2782 level around 10:20am ET, triggering a short with an 8-point trailing stop. By 10:35am, the index reached an interim low of 2775.56, taking the stop to 2783.56. The stop was triggered on the 11:16am bar (just reaching 0.33 index points above), closing the short with a loss of 1.56 index points.

The index broke below the 2782 level again within a few minutes, triggering another short with 8-point trailing stop. The index reached an interim low of 2769.53, taking the stop to 2777.53, which was triggered around 2:05pm closing the short with a gain of 4.47 index points. The models stayed flat for the rest of the session. 

Thus, the aggressive intraday models netted a profit of 2.91 index points for the day.
