In a Bull Market, Everybody’s a Genius!

The words “Rising tide lifts all the boats” can’t ring truer in the markets for the last two months than ever! It is markets like this that separate the wheat from the chaff. Unless you know you have an edge – or, have access to sources/ideas with an edge – trading in these markets on a whim or some “water cooler/social media hot stock tip” can be injurious to your financial well being.

In yesterday’s trading plans, we wrote: “That spike up already is happening with the moves since yesterday post-lunch session. Which could lead to the other outcome: rise into the inflation numbers and then sell off!”. Those who followed the market action know that that is exactly it played out!

Of course, that does NOT mean we have some crystal ball that works all the time, but our models seem to be doing pretty well – regardless of the kind of market volatility they are navigating – for the last three plus years. And, we intend to keep them continue working that way. Thank you for those of you who have reached out with words of appreciation/gratitude!

Positional Trading Models: Our positional models closed out the long entered on Tuesday, 02/08 (at 4509.19) yesterday, following the plans published yesterday morning, for a gain of 44.59 points. Positional trading models indicate staying flat for today.

Intraday/Aggressive Models indicate the trading plans below for today:

Trading Plans for FRI 02/11:

Aggressive Intraday Models: For today, our aggressive intraday models indicate going long on a break above 4525, 4503, or 4486 with a 8-point trailing stop, and going short on a break below 4530, 4520, 4496, or 4480 with a 9-point trailing stop.

Models also indicate short exits on a break above 4473. Models also indicate a break-even hard stop once a trade gets into a 4-point profit level. Models indicate taking these signals from 09:36 am EST or later.

By definition the intraday models do not hold any positions overnight – the models exit any open position at the open of the last bar (3:59pm bar or 4:00pm bar, depending on your platform’s bar timing convention).

To avoid getting whipsawed, use at least a 1-minute closing or a higher time frame – depending on your risk tolerance and trading style – to determine the signals.
