Fools Rush in Where Angels Fear to Tread

We brought the 3855 level back onto our readers radars on Friday, and on Monday that level was decisively broken with a daily close below it. We are now officially in a bear market, and it does NOT appear that the markets will bounce out of it anytime soon.

With the FOMC decision due tomorrow, and with the inflation raging hotter than ever, there is really no (edited 06/14/22 @ 1:22pm ET: corrected the typo that read “on”) reason to buy this market anytime soon. Don’t chase “potential profits” (in case the markets spring back up) at the risk of incurring significant real losses. Don’t be a fool.

Positional Trading Models: No trading plans until the FOMC decision is out and the ensuing market action is analyzed.

Intraday/Aggressive Models: Indicate no trading plans until the FOMC decision is out tomorrow or until further notice.

Trading Plans for TUE. 06/14:

Aggressive Intraday Models: No trading plans until the FOMC decision is out tomorrow or until further notice.

By definition the intraday models do not hold any positions overnight – the models exit any open position at the open of the last bar (3:59pm bar or 4:00pm bar, depending on your platform’s bar timing convention).

To avoid getting whipsawed, use at least a 5-minute closing or a higher time frame (a 1-minute if you know what you are doing) – depending on your risk tolerance and trading style – to determine the signals.
